How Kindred works
Simple, direct, and fair.
1
Browse vetted caregivers or write a post detailing the kind of work you're looking for.
Every caregiver undergoes an extensive interview and full verification before they ever reach a family.
2
Message and meet for free.
Talk directly, set up a meet-and-greet, and decide to move forward if it feels right.
3
Book directly. Pay fairly.
Caregivers set their own rates and keep what they earn. No agency takes a cut of your pay.
The full platform is launching soon. Right now we're meeting our founding families and caregivers one conversation at a time.
Why we're building this
The most human work there is.
Caregiving is intimate work. A person can be seen in their most vulnerable state. Caregivers often experience burnout due to the emotional labor that goes into their work. Most of the industry treats this relationship transcationally, which is why we are seeing increased distrust on both sides.
We're building Kindred around the two things that actually matter:
For the person receiving care, it is to keep their dignity.Caregivers see you or your loved one in the most vulnerable of moments. Receiving care without losing your autonomy or your sense of self is crucial. A great caregiver reassures, validates, and respects you, so that being helped never feels like being diminished.
For the caregiver, it is to feel valued.Kindred works to compensate, respect, and revere their caregivers in a way that honors the purposeful work they do. There must be an equivalent exhange to match the emotional weight that comes with this job.
By creating this community, we are fixing what actually matters in home healthcare. The vetting, the pay, and the techonlogy exist to make that possible.
